We once marinated it for a couple of hours and then Brian grilled it on a high heat . .. and quickly. Cut it against the grain (or something like that) and used it at a Cinco de Mayo party for fajitas. It was delicious!! I should have Brian do that again and then blog about it.
I have had a giant fail with flank steak too- have you had it turn out ok in other recipes? My fail was so big that I haven't made flank steak since!
